In my personal and professional life, I seek to connect with and learn about each person that I meet. Such experiences create lasting impressions that influence my growth, and I am grateful for the poignant memories as well as the simplicity of everyday moments.
On the surface, my interactions with others have led me to develop a deep appreciation of travel, music, literature, and film. However, my desire to connect transcends this surface level.
In the educational and professional realm, it influenced me to pursue a B.A. in Psychology at Binghamton University. During my undergraduate career, I worked in the Institute for Child Development tutoring children with learning disabilities using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Shortly thereafter, I returned home to New York City where I continued to work in an ABA based school for children with Autism. This was the first experience in special education that prompted me to redefine my concept of education and communication. I am currently pursing my master’s degree in the Childhood Special Education, Severe and Multiple Disabilities, including Deaf-Blindness Program at Hunter College. My time in Hunter College, especially my student teaching experiences, has opened up a world of concepts and opportunities. I have met incredible students and teachers who continue to challenge me and provide me with a steady flow of insight.
